I’ve always wanted to stay in a castle, but I’ve just never gotten around to it. Austria seems like the place to go for it, though! Schloss Mittersill and Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron would be my picks not only because they look really castly, but also because of their amazing amenities.

  • Adriaan Van Niekerk October 9, 2017 at 12:42 pm

Schloss Mittersill looks amazing! I will definitely want to visit the place during the winter to be able to wake up surrounded by snow covered mountains. Maybe work some snow boarding in as well. Thanks for the list!

These are all so cool! I would love to stay in a castle some day, and take a bike for a couple hours and ride around the grounds pretending like I owned the place 😛 Just seems so crazy that us commoners can even stay in castles now-a-days!

I love the concept of a castle hotel – and Austria seems to be a great place for it! Great that most have stayed true to their heritage and historic appearance, while offering modern amenities – the best of both worlds! Schloss Mittersill looks absolutely stunning if I had to choose just one!

  • Danielle Desir October 11, 2017 at 11:39 am

These castles are absolutely lavish! Although I usually stay at budget oriented accommodations. I’m convinced that I should treat myself to a night at a castle. I absolutely love the idea of having breakfast in an atrium at Schloss Matzem and the perfect manicured lawns.
